When in a secure position, Torbjörn should generally remain close enough to conduct repairs whilst firing a constant volley of rivets at the opposition. His enormous size makes him an easy target for snipers, mid-range marksmen, and guns with a wide spread such as D.Va’s Fusion Cannons. Barrier Field is quickly broken if his allies aren’t applying pressure, and unless they’re clustered behind him, he’s shielding nothing but himself. Reinhardt is the only exclusively-melee hero in Overwatch, and a stalwart of the tank class.
In the hands of a skilled player, he is also great at picking off enemy players from a distance. His arrow hitbox has been the subject of many debates as many players report arrows missing their mark completely and still registering hits. Still a bit harder to use than Widowmaker due to the absence of a scope when trying to hit enemies. Sometimes you just need to be able to run in and soak up all the bullets.
Widowmaker’s rifle can be charged to increase its damage, and a fully-powered shot can easily kill an opponent in a single hit. Of course, she is also frail, so you will need to keep far from opponents, using long range to safely pick them off. Widowmaker also has a grappling hook, allowing her to reach secluded perches, and a mine to protect her from sneak attacks. Her ultimate reveals all enemies to her teammates regardless of where they are, allowing teammates to get the jump on them. Torbjörn’s rivet gun fires rivets at long range or ejects molten metal in a short, close-range burst.
Regardless, when played effectively Sombra uses her stealth to move into position and hacks to shut down vital abilities. The key to making Sombra work is getting in, causing a little upset, dealing reasonable damage, and then getting out unharmed. A good soldier should punish any enemies straying from shields or push too far forward and slowly wear down Reinhardt’s Barrier Field or bait out Zarya’s Projected Barrier. When the hard work is done, use Tactical Visor to wipe entire teams. Roadhog has always been – and continues to be – a major menace to squishies and any champions that rely on the middle-distance, even in spite of his recent nerfs.
The giant mecha-centaur that is Orisa has no trouble bringing a high rate of damage-dealing for your team, but truly shines when it comes time to prevent the enemy from lashing back. Junkrat's arsenal of grenades, mines, and bear traps give him a special 'X-factor' that makes him a perfect pick for dislodging battened-down enemy teams. Newer players will need to adjust to the speed of her Blink teleport and rapid-fire Pulse Pistols, but once you have a handle on her, prepare to be a glorious hassle for the enemy team. The Jump Jet ability lends the armored hero an aerial advantage, lending for some easy kills on enemies forgetting to look up. Master aiming mid-air and you'll be racking up kills with Pharah in no time.
We have Overwatch 2 guides for every hero in the game, so you can quickly get comfy no matter who you want to main. A successful Zenyatta picks the right target for an Orb of Discord – usually this means the tank that’s holding fast the enemy’s defence. Roadhogs will crumble, D.Va’s will go bang, and Reinhardts who choose to charge will be dead before they’ve moved a couple of metres. If entrenched in a secluded area with six deployed turrets and all her abilities available, Symmetra is a fierce opponent – especially if she catches a scout unawares. However, with Symmetra’s Ultimate she takes on a more support-like role. Protecting her Teleporter or Shield Generator is of the utmost importance, and the utility they provide is invaluable to a defending team.
D.Va could also be helpful in tracking down the annoying beggar as he tries to scuttle away with ffx his extra-fast movement speed. A defensive hero, she is best used to stall capture points, slow down enemy progress and separate tight enemy groups for easy pickings. Like any skill, mastering Overwatch strategies requires practice and dedication. The more you play, the better you'll understand the game's mechanics, hero abilities, and effective strategies.
Torbjorn turret spots
Soldier benefits from being a really simple character to play and master, because his playstyle is so similar to a traditional shooter. This is partly why Blizzard has had such success in keeping him balanced, because developers deeply understand how this sort of character should feel. With strong DPS, solid movement, and an impressive self/AOE heal, he’s one of the safest picks in the game.
Tanks
If you meet McCree in a corridor then one of you is going to end up dead, and it often isn’t the one from the Old West. As a pushing tool, no Ultimate is quite as effective as Sound Barrier. As a counter-ultimate, only Zenyatta is as useful at shutting down an assault.
The robot Bastion can switch between a mobile soldier form and a devastating turret form, allowing him to hold choke points against entire teams. In turret form, Bastion can fire a constant stream of bullets that will shred anyone in sight. However, he is also immobile in this form, meaning snipers and characters that can get behind him are effective counters. Bastion’s ultimate changes Bastion into tank form and he fires explosives that can quickly tear teams apart. While using his ultimate, Bastion can actually move around in his tank form but each shot has increased damage.
Armed with a jetpack and a rocket launcher, Pharah can rain havoc on opponents, hitting them from places they didn’t expect. Although she can kill most characters quickly, Pharah herself is quite vulnerable, particularly when flying. Her ultimate, Rocket Barrage, causes her to hover in place while firing hundreds of rockets forward, dealing enormous damage but leaving her open. Best paired with characters like Zarya or Mei who can immobilize enemy teams, or Mercy who can fly up with Pharah and keep her alive as you rain justice from above. D.Va may not be the powerhouse tank she used to be, but she’s still a strong pick in nearly every team composition.

Baptiste is a battle-hardened combat medic who is a little tricky to navigate if you’re a new player. It’s convenient that this weapon also doubles as a healing device by letting you throw projectiles that heal allies near the point of impact. He also has an Immortality Field which, once launched, will keep any allies within the field’s range from dying, although the field’s generator can be destroyed. His ultimate, Amplification Matrix, doubles damage and healing effects of friendly projectiles that pass through it.
